The Entire Community Benefits
Among the most important benefits of achieving this vision is the increased contribution the YMCA will be able to return to our community. It will allow us to better:
 |
- meet the recreational and social needs of families;
- provide strongholds of stability and unity in the midst of challenging times;
- enhance the quality of life for children and families; and
- strengthen the area’s amenities to attract families, quality businesses and development to the community.

The YMCA opens programs to people of all ethnic groups, ages, income levels, social backgrounds, interests and skill levels. One of the most important goals at the Midland YMCA is to provide as many Midlanders as possible with opportunities to enrich their lives through participation in safe and fun activities with others. The involvement of all family members - all ages - in Y programs will be the greatest benefit addressed by this project. Low-income families and children, especially, are positively impacted by the community service programs offered at the YMCA. For example, currently over 51% of the children served each year in our youth/teen programs are minorities.

By opening our doors to serve a larger number of members and program participants, we will see an increase in the numbers of teens, kids, adults, families, seniors, scholarship recipients, Y-Indian Guides and Y-Indian Princess dads and children, swimmers, spinners, joggers, exercisers, children in after school care, summer campers, basketball players, volleyball players, racquetball players, donors, CPR/First Aid trainees, scout troops, users of the Community Computer Lab, visitors to and businesses supporting the annual Healthy Kids Day…and the list goes on!
